Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Permit

In March 2020, the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning issued an A-Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Permit A-IPPC to Cementarnica USJE. This permit is a confirmation of our commitment to environmental protection and provides an internal framework for the overall further monitoring of all activities in the cement plant from an environmental standpoint and the reduction of the possible impacts on all environmental media.

During the permitting process, which began in June 2007, representatives of the competent ministry conducted several inspections in all parts of the company, finding that Cementarnica USJE's way of working meets the environmental protection requirements and that often, the internal criteria and procedures are even stricter than the legally prescribed rules.

The Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning in 2011 issued to Cementarnica USJE an A-Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Permit, under which the company is obliged to carry out activities to further protect and improve the environment, delineated by a specific Operational Plan. The implementation of the planned activities under the Operational Plan for the permit was completed before the deadline in 2013 with the commissioning of a stormwater and surface wastewater treatment plant, the first of its kind in the country. In 2018, the competent ministry launched a procedure for transition of the Permit for Compliance with the Operational Plan that resulted in final issue of the A-Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Permit A-IPPC to Cementarnica USJE in 2020.
