Cementarnica Usje awarded the best architectural solutions for reconstruction of the facades of company's silos, on the competition published for the students of the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje. A total of four best projects selected by the committee composed of representatives of the Faculty of Architecture and Cementarnica Usje have been awarded.
The total prize fund was 74.000 denars and each of the selected solutions was awarded with 15.000 denars. All participants received a symbolic award for their participation in the competition.
The competition task, announced by Cementarnica USJE and the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje was for students to develop architectural solutions for reconstruction of the facade surfaces of silos facilities through proposals for surface treatment, color solution and night lighting.
As a socially responsible company USJE, beside the continuous modernization of the technology and production procedures, initiated this competition for facade surface renovation in order to fit better into their immediate surroundings.
“We congratulate the students and the Faculty of Architecture for the energy, quality and innovation of the solutions. They obviously recognized our vision for applying the most modern approaches which USJE follows in its own production and in relation to the community, promoting the highest environmental protection and care standards. I believe that we will have new opportunities for cooperation in the use of these design solutions and future projects", said Boris Hrisafov, Chief Executive Director of USJE, at the awarding ceremony.
Cementarnica USJE continues with its close cooperation with the community and educational institutions in all projects. The numerous projects and the recognition that the company receives for its social responsibility at the national and local level are the best example for this.
“This cooperation with USJE is a great example, which should be promoted and followed. This type of projects proves that successful joint projects between the real sector and education are not only possible, but also provide a high benefit for both sides - the industry gets in touch with fresh ideas of the future, and students have the opportunity to work on a realistic basis and to gain valuable experience even during the educational process", said Ognen Marina, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje.
Beside the awards that students received, Cementarnica USJE, redeemed the 4 selected solutions in order to prepare a project solution for restoration of the facades of the company's silos in the future, which will open new opportunities for cooperation with educational institutions and students.
