TITAN USJE at the Conference on Mining and Geology

10/8/2025

Environmental protection, biodiversity preservation, and safeguarding ecosystems are among the primary goals of TITAN USJE, which consistently applies ecological standards in its operations and works toward creating a sustainable future. In this direction was also the participation of company representatives at the XVI Expert Symposium on Underground and Surface Exploitation and Geological Research of Mineral Resources – PODEKS–POVEKS 2025, recently held in Ohrid.

The event brought together leading professors, experts, and engineers from North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Kosovo, who discussed the latest trends and challenges in mining and geology. They presented research and practical experience related to geological investigations, modern techniques and technologies for mineral resource exploitation, as well as the application of information systems and new methods for obtaining and processing raw materials. Significant attention was also dedicated to topics such as the reclamation of degraded land, workplace safety and protection, and the integration of sustainable development principles in mining.

As a long-standing and trusted partner of the mining and academic community, TITAN USJE presented the sustainable practices implemented in its operations. The company manages several mines, all of which adhere to modern environmental standards, focusing on environmental protection through land reclamation, afforestation, and biodiversity restoration—contributing to a sustainable future and enhancing the quality of life of local communities. Through joint efforts with the Faculty of Forestry in Skopje, TITAN USJE is actively engaged in promoting biodiversity measures and continuously implementing remediation plans, which have resulted in more than 440,000 trees and flowers being planted around the plant and the mines.

The conference once again reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between science and industry, united in the common goal of advancing mining and geology toward innovation, safety, sustainability, and environmental protection.
