Titan Usje part of the 6th MaSWA International Conference

5/30/2025

Titan Usje took center stage at the 6th International Conference of the Macedonian Solid Waste Association (MaSWA), held in Skopje under the theme "The Path to Sustainable Waste Management." The two-day event brought together local and international experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss circular economy strategies, climate action, and sustainable waste governance.
Titan Usje's active participation underscored its commitment to environmental leadership and innovation. During the session on circular economy and decarbonization, the Chief executive director delivered a compelling presentation outlining Titan Usje’s integrated sustainability practices, including the use of alternative fuels, circular resource models, and emission reduction efforts. This contribution positioned the company as a benchmark for green transition within the industrial sector.
Our Environmental and AF Manager, Natasa Bakreska, played a vital role in the conference, contributing her expertise during several panel discussions and engaging with participants on key topics such as waste valorization and environmental compliance. Her insights highlighted the practical steps Titan Usje is taking to align with EU environmental standards and drive impactful change on a local and regional level.

Direct contribution from the high-level representatives from the Titan Group, Panagiota Megagianni, the ESG Performance Manager, a panelist at the "Climate change, decarbonization, and ESG principles in waste management” panel, and Christina Martavaltzi, the Group Manufacturing Decarbonization Manager, panelist in the "Circular economy and waste as a resource" panel, was especially meaningful in demonstrating our commitment to sustainability, compliance, and continuous improvement in the field of decarbonization, solid waste management and ESG performances.
A major highlight was the tour, where Titan Usje welcomed 52 delegates of the Conference to the plant. Guests observed first-hand the company’s “waste to energy” approach—an operational model that not only diverts waste from landfills but also contributes to CO₂ reduction in cement production.
The conference, co-organized by ISWA and supported by the EU Delegation, reinforced the importance of cross-sector collaboration. Titan Usje’s prominent role served as a testament to its long-term vision: to lead by example in creating a low-carbon, circular future for the region.
