TITAN Usje hosted a working visit by the President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, Mr. Branko Azeski, together with members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, who met with the Chief Executive Director of TITAN Usje, Mr. Konstantinos Nikolaou and the Technical Director Mr. Goce Cvetkoski, at the company’s premises.
During the visit, the operations of the TITAN Group and the strategic priorities of TITAN Usje were presented, with a particular focus on continuous investments in modernization, digitalization, decarbonization and the improvement of environmental performance. Mr. Azeski underlined that the visit takes place in a sensitive period in which environmental issues are in the public spotlight, emphasizing that a comprehensive and objective understanding can be achieved only through open dialogue, transparency and the involvement of all relevant stakeholders. In this context, the Economic Chamber expressed its readiness to support the organization of an expert conference on industry and the environment, as a platform for constructive and fact-based discussion.
It was emphasized that TITAN Usje, as a long-standing member of the Chamber and part of a leading international industrial group, operates in full compliance with national and European legislation and applies Best Available Techniques and internationally recognized environmental practices. The company holds an Integrated Environmental Permit and operates under a 24-hour independent monitoring system of air emissions, ensuring transparency and continuous reporting. As one of the first companies in the country to fully implement ESG standards, TITAN Usje has established clear objectives in the areas of environmental protection, climate action, occupational health and safety, social responsibility and corporate governance.
The Chief Executive Director, Mr. Konstantinos Nikolaou, reiterated the company’s openness to professional and evidence-based public dialogue and highlighted the TITAN Group’s long-term commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Continuous investments are being made in state-of-the-art technologies, energy efficiency, alternative fuels and raw materials, digital process optimization and the development of lower-carbon products, in line with the Group’s decarbonization roadmap.
Over the past six years, TITAN Usje has invested more than EUR 36 million in development and modernization, a significant share of which has been dedicated to environmental performance, innovation and emission reduction. Digital transformation, decarbonization and the transition to a green economy remain core strategic priorities for the coming period.
With regard to air quality in Skopje, it was noted that during the regular winter maintenance shutdowns, when production was fully halted, ambient air emissions levels remained broadly unchanged, highlighting the need for a comprehensive, system-wide approach to all emission sources, in close cooperation with competent authorities and the scientific community.
On the occasion of the company’s 70th anniversary, the President of the Economic Chamber, Mr. Branko Azeski, presented a Recognition Award to Mr. Konstantinos Nikolaou for seven decades of successful operation of TITAN Usje and its contribution to the industrial development and economic growth in North Macedonia.
TITAN Usje remains firmly committed to transparency, responsible environmental management, constructive stakeholder engagement and long-term sustainable development, in full alignment with the highest European and international standards.
